Dieter Oberg has headed the Informationsgemeinschaft Olivenöl for 35 years and founded and headed the German Olive Oil Panel (DOP) for almost 20 years, which works according to the globally valid sensory test standards. He worked for 15 years as an olive oil contractor for the European Commission. Many institutes and media such as TV stations, Stiftung Warentest, Ökotest, International Olive Council, olive oil producers and marketers have made use of his in-depth knowledge. To this day, he is a sought-after judge in many olive oil competitions such as PremioBiol or the Berlin Global Olive Oil Award. There are very few such competent experts in Germany when it comes to olive oil.
