What do I receive with an olive tree sponsorship?
With your olive tree sponsorship, you adopt a real organic Taggiasca olive tree in Liguria. You will receive a handmade olive wood nameplate with your chosen name directly on the tree, personal photos and a video of your tree (via Dropbox or WhatsApp), a personal certificate and – depending on the package – the delivery of organic extra virgin olive oil from your tree's harvest. With every sponsorship, you also support the organic organization Rete Tesori della Riviera.
How much does an olive tree sponsorship cost?
There are several variants, each in three sizes: The basic sponsorship without oil delivery is available from €38.49/year. The sponsorship with your own organic olive oil (most popular choice) costs €59.12 (1 bottle), €99.49 (3 bottles), or €193.49 (6 bottles). The multi-year subscription sponsorship starts at €58.35/year and can be canceled at any time.
Do I really get olive oil from my own tree – and how much?
Yes. With all packages including oil delivery, you receive organic extra virgin olive oil from your tree's harvest: depending on the size, 1 bottle (Small), 3 bottles (Regular), or 6 bottles (Large). Harvesting takes place from October to December, with delivery usually in January/February. Should the harvest be poor (e.g., due to drought), we provide high-quality organic oil from our partner farms.
Where are the olive trees located – and can I visit my tree?
Your trees grow on our organic farm Sassolive in Alpicella, on the sunny hills above the Riviera dei Fiori in Liguria – right by the sea. Some trees are over 300 years old. You can visit your tree at any time by arrangement; it is easily accessible by car and train.
Can I give my olive tree its own name?
Yes. Every sponsor can give their tree an individual name. This name is engraved on a handmade olive wood sign and attached directly to the tree.
How does the olive tree sponsorship work step-by-step?
First: Select a package (Small/Regular/Large) and provide your chosen name. Second: We attach your personalized olive wood sign to the tree and create photos and a video. Third: You receive the certificate and media (Dropbox/WhatsApp). Fourth: After the winter harvest, your organic olive oil arrives (depending on the package). Fifth: The sponsorship can be extended at any time.
Is the olive tree certified organic?
Yes. Our Taggiasca olive trees are cultivated organically and with traditional manual labor, and the oil is organic extra virgin olive oil.
Can I give an olive tree sponsorship as a gift?
Certainly – it is one of our most popular gifts. You have several options: the complete olive tree sponsorship as a gift, including an elegant gift set with a framed certificate (white wooden frame) and a bottle of organic olive oil, ready to be presented immediately (from €125.12). Or you can book a standard sponsorship and add the gift package as an add-on. If you're in a hurry, the voucher is available via email within an hour.
What is the difference between sponsorship and adoption?
Both terms mean the same thing: you symbolically take responsibility for a real olive tree. "Adoption" emphasizes the personal bond, while "sponsorship" emphasizes the support – ultimately, it is the same offer.
How long does the sponsorship last and can I extend it?
A one-time sponsorship lasts for one year. After that, you can extend it or choose the multi-year subscription sponsorship, which renews automatically and can be canceled at any time.
